Lake of Antinioti in Corfu Greece

The picturesque Antinioti Lake lies after passing Acharavi, to the way to Kassiopi, in a magnificent area of great ecological interest.Its sweet and warm water meets the salty one, in a poetic coupling.

Situated in the north side of the island, the lagoon covers 100 acres and provides a home for fish, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and many rare birds (96 different species have been spotted here). For instance, it shelters the most likely important population of otters, in spite of the daily and strong bird shooting from October to May.

The reason is a huge reed bed that provides food as well as quiet hides and Holts without pollution. It is an important wetland biotope, a nature reserve and has been designated as a protected area.A special place for quiet walks with the scent of eucalyptus, pine and sea saltiness.
